Let’s be real: mental health is hard and sometimes it’s even harder to talk about it. I understand what that feels like and I want to support you in sitting in that and helping you heal through conversation. Whatever is leading you to seek counseling, our work together will be founded on grace, empathy, respect, and a blanket of support while we work together to meet your goals.

In life, everyone faces different obstacles and challenges. Having someone help you navigate the more challenging parts of life during these times can be helpful. I see my role as a therapist as being someone who helps you navigate through any and all phases of life. The therapeutic relationship includes both the counselor and client working together to achieve the client’s goals.

Licensed Professional Counselor

I never pictured myself pursuing counseling but just wanted to be someone that was available when those around me were going through hard seasons. I am now grateful for the opportunity to intentionally walk through some of those seasons with people that might not have pursued counseling in the past.

I love getting to be a part of the counseling process by caring for our clients from the initial phone call or email and throughout their time with us. It is truly a joy to listen and then connect you with a counselor who I am confident will care for you and come alongside you well as you grow towards achieving each of your individual goals.

Sometimes counseling is having someone walk alongside and support you as you persevere through tragedy. Sometimes it’s developing new ways to overcome old cycles of abuse or discovering perspectives that change your life. Throughout my work with individuals, couples, and groups, I have loved working with people who struggle with depression, anxiety, and anger. I look forward to seeing more individuals experience change and true flourishing.

We all experience difficult and painful things in life, but you don’t have to walk through them alone. My hope as a counselor is to provide a safe and welcoming space for you to be known and heard. I’m honored to walk this journey with you as you seek healing and growth. Currently, I have my masters in mental health counseling.

Life can be challenging at times and taking that first step of deciding to begin counseling can be intimidating. Kudos to you for beginning that process by looking into finding a counselor! Whatever it is that you are battling, I invite you to take that next step toward healing. One small step in the right direction can make all the difference. I believe that you are the expert on your life and your experience.

After 40 years of counseling, with a diversity of people, working on a myriad of issues, two things have become abundantly clear. First of all, everyone experiences challenging and painful life events. Secondly, each and every one of us has the human capacity to choose. It is now my firm belief that when a person makes the best life choices they are freed to grow beyond the pain and problems into the individual they are designed to be.

I believe everyone has the strength from within to overcome life’s many challenges. Sometimes we just need someone to walk beside us through difficult times in a trusting environment that allows space for gaining strength and insight. This is especially true when experiencing conditions like trauma, grief, stress, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and challenging relationships.

alethia

Lonna Huang

Licensed Professional Counselor

I believe we all need a safe place to explore the issues that may be preventing us from experiencing a full and satisfying life. My greatest reward as a therapist is helping my clients examine ways to make the changes in their lives that will allow them to look forward to the future with hope.

Life can be overwhelming and often painful, leaving us feeling incapable of moving forward. My passion is coming alongside women, providing space for them to explore and encouraging them to connect their hearts with the heart of God, which leads to transformation. I have a deep love for people and seek the presence of God through prayer. I consider it a privilege to partner with you on this journey.

As part of normal life, humans experience anxious thoughts, stressors, life changes, loss, diagnoses, and relationships that are challenging to understand and navigate.  My goal as a counselor is to come alongside you during these challenging times, to hold space for processing, to challenge unsupportive thinking patterns, and to encourage you to walk in authenticity and peace on your journey.

Life can be very complex; there are seasons of challenges, seasons of joy and some seasons with both. Sometimes we all need some support along the way, and as a counselor my hope is to provide you the space to process those joys and challenges. I would be honored to come alongside you during your counseling journey and witness your growth.

The counseling relationship is one that has intrigued me for years, but deeper still is my passion for stories. Therapy is an excellent way to find answers, to discover the truth, and confront your greatest challenges. I am passionate about helping anyone tell their story, no matter how difficult the details.

Life is not always the idealistic, picture-perfect scene we desire it to be. Sometimes the waters of life are rough, and we are left feeling discouraged, lost, and overwhelmed. I would be honored to partner with you on your journey to smoother waters. As a veteran and counselor, I know that the most difficult step is often the first one and it would be a privilege to take that first step with you.

Life can be challenging as we navigate our various struggles, and I would be honored to walk with you through part of your journey. There are times when you may be wrestling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, unresolved conflict, marital conflict, or various other issues, and you need some assistance unraveling your story, developing coping skills, finding your strengths, and moving toward healing and a brighter future.

The Greek word for counselor is “Paraklete.”

Think “two pairs of shoes.”

It refers to a person that comes to walk alongside others.

Too many people attempt to journey down all the paths alone. There are times, and paths, when we need someone alongside to encourage, support, and help us.

We look forward to hearing from you
